Ronnie Miller, B.A.; M.A.; M.Ed.; Ph.D.
Executive Director

Ronnie Miller received his M.Ed. in Educational Administration, and Ph.D. in History & Philosophy of Education from the University of Toronto – OISE. Dr. Miller has completed substantial research in the fields of multiculturalism and the teaching of Critical Thinking Skills, has taught history at the High School and University levels, and is the author of two books published by academic presses. Ronnie has substantial experience in the area of private education, including the establishment of the Halton Learning Centre (a registered private school) and its respective high school programs. Over the last 25 years Dr. Miller has been involved with private schools in South Africa, Australia and Canada. In 1997, Dr. Miller gathered a team of educators and administrators, who now provide an array of educational and administrative services to a large number of private schools, as well as First Nation schools.

 

Bev Miller, B.Sc.; M.Ed.
Director

Ms. Miller, completed her B.Sc. at the University of Manitoba, and her M.Ed. in Curriculum – Adaptive Instruction at the University of Toronto – OISE. Ms. Miller has taught mathematics and science at the middle and high school levels in Manitoba, Ontario, and Western Australia. She has experience teaching in both large cities, as well as in remote communities, and has taught within the public school system and for well-established private schools. For the last 10 years she has worked in Special Education with the Halton District Board of Education. Ms. Miller is the academic consultant for the Halton Learning Centre, and she was instrumental in the establishment of PDS and the pursuit of its seminars.

 

 

Pam Struiksma, Ph.D.
Registered Psychologist

Dr. Pam Struiksma is a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario as a Clinical and School Psychologist. She provides therapy and assessments for children and adolescents with a variety of problems. Her clinical areas of interest include School Based Difficulties, Anxiety, Non-Verbal Learning Disabilities, Language based Learning Disabilities, Depression, ADHD, and Autism Spectrum Disorder. She graduated with a Ph.D. from the University of Guelph in Applied Developmental Psychology. Dr. Struiksma provides in-services, assessments, and consultation for PDS.

 

Allan Wolfish, Q.C.

Alan Wolfish, Q.C. was Director of Legal Services with the Ministries of Education and Training, Colleges and Universities for sixteen years. As a sole practitioner, he currently serves as education law consultant to the firm of Fogler, Rubinoff LLP and also represents clients in the private education sector. Mr. Wolfish brings a wealth of experience and first-hand knowledge of legal issues relating to the education sector, and is able to present these issues to a lay audience in an engaging and understandable manner.

 

Tim Paci, M.A.

Mr. Paci is a lecturer in the Department of Drama and Speech Communication at the University of Waterloo, where he coordinates the Department’s public speaking program while teaching courses in interviewing and organizational communication. Mr. Paci also teaches literature in the Departments of English at the University of Waterloo and St. Jerome’s University in the University of Waterloo, and teaches English as a second language at the English Language Institute at Renison College in the University of Waterloo and at the University of Waterloo Writing Centre. In addition, Mr. Paci has taught university English and public speaking to First Nations students at the Six Nations Polytechnic on Six Nations Reserve. Mr. Paci is the co-founder and owner of the Business of Writing, a written and oral communications consulting company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in English and history and a master’s degree in English from McMaster University and has completed further graduate work in literature and discourse analysis.
